Im März erscheint das Dub Album »RIGHT TIME – RIGHT DUB« von Jah Schulz im hauseigenen Label Railroad Records. Die Vinyl ist über BuyReggae erhältlich und kostet 15 €. Das Album beinhaltet sechs Dub Tunes. Chanting mit Donovan Kingjay ist bereits als 7″ Single veröffentlicht. Jedoch ist auf der LP ein Dub-Mix enthalten, der bisher unveröffentlicht blieb. Ausserdem freue ich mich darüber, Teil dieses Projekts zu sein. Die Nummer 4, Dub Through Darkness, ist nämlich ein „Jah Schulz meets Di CAPTAiN“ Release. Somit habe ich meine bislang erste Veröffentlichung auf einem Album. Der Tune ist von mir produziert und von Jah Schulz gedubbt! Am 21.03.2020 wird es ein Release Dance im YART geben.

Am 28. Dezember 2019 fand die letzte Dub Session zum Jahresausklang in Stuttgart im Yart statt. Anlass dafür war die inzwischen 8. Schallplatte, veröffentlicht am 22. November 2019 beim hauseigenen Label Railroad Records: Chanting, produziert von Jah Schulz und gevoicet von Donovan Kingjay. Die Lyrics sind von Delroy Reid aka Junior Reid. Der Track ist eine moderne Fassung des gleichnamigen Roots-Klassikers. Ein pre-release gab es unter anderem in meiner ROOTICAL DUB STATION Reihe, wo ich Dub-Versions im Live-Stream mit verschiedenen Effekten mixe und anschließend auf meiner Soundcloud Page hochlade. Die Single ist ein „must-have“ für alle Roots Reggae, Dub Follower und Creator.
Neben der veröffentlichten Single gab es viele Einblicke in die Dub-Welt von Jah Schulz. Unter anderem waren Tunes vertreten, die auf seinem kommenden Album erscheinen werden. Darunter einer, der von mir produziert ist und von ihm gedubbt wurde. Die Melodicaparts vom ursprünglichen Track habe ich auf der Session live eingespielt.
Der Abend war durchflutet von Roots und Dub. Hinter den Plattentellern und dem Live-Dub-Setup waren Ben Kuhn, Stuttgarter Rapper, Carsten Netz, der die Flöte und das Saxophon bei der frisch veröffentlichten Single spielt, Markus Schwarz, der Mitgründer des Labels ist, James Joint, Jah Schulz und Ich. Die Session war in Parts unterteilt. Roots und Dub Vinyl Selection by James Joint und Markus Schwarz. Live-Dub by Jah Schulz algs. Ben Kuhn, Carsten Netz und mir, Di CAPTAiN. Die Gäste kamen und gingen, es gab eine fliegende Präsenz des Publikums. Die Baselines waren durch die Resonanz von allen im Raum Anwesenden quasi sichtbar – auch ohne Soundsystem.
Holger Vogt war an dem Abend auch anwesend und hat die Momente mit der Kamera festgehalten. Einige Worte aus seinem Blickwinkel findet ihr hier:

This is the third time that the guys from LION I-FI organise a Gathering in MAUKE to spread Roots, Dub and Stepper vibrations. I really look forward to this ‚Roots & Kultur‘ gathering that will happen at the 30th of October and i am very happy to be part of it. We’re going to have instrumentalists and MCs to push down the pressure!! So come rally i would say!

I’ve put some original footage like the speech from Leroy „Horsemouth“ Wallace from the movie called „Rockers“ (wich was released in 1978 and directed/produced by Theodoros Bafaloukos) and the speech from Malcolm X („Democracy is hypocrisy“) where he is talkin‘ ‚bout the social and racism problems in the U. S.. I thought that this is the right medium to put everything together.
